A relaxed, low-threshold weekend course open to musicians and singers of all ages, where participants will learn the joint program for the 2026 Kihaus Folk Festival under the guidance of a cheerful group of teachers.

Come and experience the joy of playing music at Kihaus Folk’s traditional folk music course, taught by master folk musician Pentti Ojajärvi.
Folk music course participants will perform at the opening concert of the Kihaus Folk 35th anniversary festival on July 10 and at the Grand Folk Music Parade on July 11, 2026.
Course fee:

During the most enjoyable week of the summer, we will play music, sing together, make art, and enjoy summer days on the shores of Lake Saimaa in northern Finland at Villa Ruusula. There is something for everyone at the camp, regardless of skill level – whether you are just starting out or already well advanced in your hobby!
The camp ends with a performance at the opening of the Kihaus Folk 35 anniversary festival on Friday, July 10, 2026.
You can participate in either a day camp (ages 6-9) or an overnight camp (ages 10-17, or 9 with an older sibling).
Accommodation at Villa Ruusula is limited and will be filled in the order of registration.

The day camp fee of €280 includes instruction, meals (lunch, snack, and dinner), and camp insurance.
Overnight camp €450 includes tuition, full board, and camp insurance.
